Baptism is the way followers of Jesus have always said, out loud and in front of everyone, "I belong to him." It does not save you — Jesus does — but it is the first step he asks of everyone who trusts him, and at Sample Church it is one of the best days of the year.

We baptize believers of any age by immersion, usually on a Sunday morning during the service, with your family and friends watching. You say a few words about what Jesus has done in your life, or one of our pastors says them for you; then you go under the water and come up to a room full of people cheering.

If you have decided to follow Jesus and have never been baptized as a believer, yes. Whether that decision was last week or forty years ago does not matter. If you were baptized as a baby and have since come to faith yourself, many people choose to be baptized again as their own decision — we would be glad to talk it through with you.
